Our Beginnings
CONSTRUCTORA URBANA, S.A. (CUSA) was founded in 1955. Operations begun with a small fleet dedicated to sewer construction sub-contracts. During the following years our effort, professionalism and tenacity made CUSA the leading construction company in Panama.
Throughout our history, CUSA has been a leader in the construction of roads, housing, infrastructures and bridges, both in urban as well as in rural areas of difficult access. The incorporation and application of new procedures and technologies, which have innovated and revolutionized the construction industry in Panama, have allowed the Company to successfully enter into the development of container and cruise ports, the rehabilitation of railways, the expansion and improvement of electric systems, airports, construction of water treatment plants, among others.
The Company’s competitiveness and leadership transcended internationally. CUSA was the only Panamanian Company that participated in the international public bid for developing the first phase of dry excavation to expand the Panama Canal, presenting the best technical and economic proposal.
The strength of CUSA is based on: the high professional level of our personnel, the quality control of materials through laboratory testing, our incorporation into the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and to the flexibility we demonstrate towards continuous changes which are a consequence of the growing social, technological and economic demands of the Country.
